Nora’s Home Care is a small eldercare facility, owned and operated by an RN. This professional 6-room care facility offers a neighborhood alternative to a nursing home, with expert, 24-hour nursing and intimate care (visit our Services page for our full list of medical care and assistance with activities of daily living).
Our six residents feel as if they are living in a family home, but the medical staff taking care of them is thoroughly professional and licensed. The small, reliable staff offers regular, familiar faces, which is a special comfort to those with memory loss and cognitive concerns.

What is an Adult Family Home?
If you are searching for eldercare for the first time, you may not have encountered the term “Adult Family Home.” This is a legal term used by the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) for eldercare facilities with six or fewer residents. All Adult Family Homes in Washington State must be licensed, and they are subject to regular inspection and review by DSHS.
These Adult Family Homes (the acronym used is AFH) provide room and board and assistance with activities of daily living in a small setting, usually a converted home in a residential area. They are also known as residential care homes, elder care homes, or personal care homes.
